Hovering House Among the Treetops

This cool hovering house offers a breathtaking view unlike any other of the surrounding Spanish Catalonia countryside. Designed by Chile architecture firm Pezo Von Ellrichshausen Architects, the raised house plan, dubbed the Solo House, indeed has an isolated, solitary feel to it, sitting just above the treetops lush, leafy. This cubed, concrete house is dominated by its strong sense of geometry, a traditionally heavy material that's artfully made "lighter" thanks to generous openings that invite the outdoors in and open up the space. Inside, minimalist interiors keep leading you back to the outdoors with the views through each glass wall. It's interesting to note that, at the heart of this home, the only "enclosed" room isn't enclosed at all, boasting walls but no ceiling. Pezo Von Ellrichshausen Architects
