The vacation house designed by the LM architects on the outskirts of Monemvasia combines traditional and modern elements resulting in an outstanding building which offers comfort, privacy and security.
llers a panoramic view to the adjacent sea. The rooms are arranged along an implied axis of movement encouraging continuity between indoor and outdoor areas. The wooden decks and panels and the hacked plaster are the other materials that complete the solid structure of this construction.

The structure of the building is based on two alternative open spaces and three levels. In that way the panoramic view to the sea becomes a part of every room of the building.
Particular emphasis is given to the interior circulation that passes through solid and void spaces. The building in that way seems lighter from the lower to the higher level.
Major component that contributes to the privacy of the home and also highlights the shift towards the sea, is the stone wall that runs parallel with the access road.
On the surface, but in other synthetic basic structures of the building is apparent the relationship of the building with tradition, particularly as regards the materials. This not applicable to the issue of siting, which follows common practices.
The building’s materials introduce a relationship with tradition, predominantly the choice of stone, emphasizing a strong sense of place, along with fair faced concrete and hacked plaster. Wood accents found within the deck flooring and door panels of the home complement the permanent exterior appearance.
