Porsche has revealed its diesel Panamera which goes on sale in August and has a range of 750 miles.
The German manufacturer says the car will take 'four passengers in comfort from Lands End to Loch Ness'.
The diesel model will be the cheapest in the range at a mere £62,134. The car gets a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine from the Volkswagen storeroom which produces 247bhp and 406lb ft of torque.
The Panamera diesel also achieves a claimed 43.5mpg which means a range of around 750 miles from the 80-litre fuel tank.
The CO2 emissions of 172g/km are higher than the Panamera hybrid model's 159g/km but fit the optional low-resistance tyres and mileage increases by 1.3mpg and CO2 emissions drop by 5g/km.
Porsche says the diesel will go from 0-62mph in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 150mph. An eight-speed tiptronic gearbox drives the rear wheels and stop-start is fitted as standard.
Porsche has also announced that all buyers will be able to get to know their new car with a complimentary driving experience at Silverstone.
Aside from the black smoke and slight clatter, the only way to tell the diesel model from its petrol counterparts will be some discreet badging on the front doors.
Surely it can only be a matter of time until we get a 911 diesel...
