La Rioja, Spain
Between April and October 2009, coinciding with the Jubilee Year, indissoluble thought up, designed and produced the exhibition “La Rioja, Open Land. Sin, Penance, Forgiveness”.
The show took place at the Cathedral of Salvador, the Cloisters and Cathedral Museum and the courtyard of the cloister and was supported by the Vatican Museum, which provided some of his artwork. An important part of the artistic heritage of Santo Domingo de la Calzada recovered with the renewal of the Cathedral Museum and the enhancement of different parts of the Cathedral, as well as paving and lighting of the temple.
The exhibition covers an area of over 3500 m2, and went over the path Christians walk on their way to forgiveness. It starts with the original sin, and the Tree of sin offering the forbidden fruit to the visitors. After going down to hell, visitors go round through the redemption process until they get to heaven, performed by a circular projection in a dome built on the cathedral’s tower.
There were used technological interactive systems as information vehicle. Visitors checked in at the entrance using a RFID card. They provided their name, language and a picture, so they could have a unique and personalized experience.
An encounter between history and technology, spirituality and digital age.
