Guilty, a new (2008) 35 metre superyacht built in Italy at Cantieri Navali Rizzardi, is one of the most striking superyachts recently launched. This tri-deck superyacht is unique in many ways. It features an art work paintjob, stunning interior design, and a highly unusual layout. The lower deck holds the guest accommodation, including two VIP cabins, one double cabin, and one smaller, though very comfortable, single guest cabin. The forward part of the yacht features the crew quarters for 6 crewmembers.
The main deck is home to a large lounge, a service area and, more unusual, the wheelhouse. Aft there is a large deck area that opens up into the bright and highly contemporary salon. It is a bright room, thanks to its full height windows. The lack of side decks greatly improves the views from the salon.
The designer of the yacht, Ivana Porfiri of Porfiristudio, describes the interior as a collection of ‘white boxes’, characterized by using white corian for the flooring and white paintings for walls and ceilings. These “white boxes” incorporate a multitude of coloured design furniture and art works by famous artists.
The area beyond the guest area is occupied by a service zone that includes a galley, pantry, day toilet and wheelhouse. The wheelhouse, close to the unusual bow of the yacht, offers good views, and is well laid out.
The entire upper deck is completely dedicated to the owner’s area. The cabin has 180 degree forward views, and features an aft office. The office becomes one with the upper aft deck by opening up the large sliding doors. The upper aft deck offers dining, and lounging options.
GRP is used for both the hull and the superstructure. Two MTU 16V 4000M90 engines power the yacht to a maximum speed of 27,9 knots.
If the interior is like an art gallery, the exterior camouflage design, by Jeff Koons, completes the work, creating a pure travelling work of art.
